What is brow henna and how is it different than traditional tinting? Brow henna is a natural based tinting technique that has been used globally for over 5,000 years. Henna is harvested from the henna plant and uses the leaves’ natural staining power to stain skin. Henna does not require ammonia or a developer to penetrate the cortex and change the color from within as traditional tinting does. Henna coats the outside of the hair, smoothing the brows and giving the appearance of thicker, darker brows.
